Dr. Wåhlander studied medicine in Sweden (Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology) and Canada at The Hospital for Sick Children Toronto (Pediatric Cardiology). He worked as a Consultant in Pediatric Cardiology in Gothenburg, Sweden (2003-2013) before going to Kinderspital, Zürich, Switzerland (2013-2014). After returning to Gothenburg in 2014, mainly working with interventional pediatric cardiology, heart transplantation and pulmonary hypertension, he also served as Head of Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Heart center at The Queen Silvia Children´s Hospital in Gothenburg between 2016 and 2021. His research interest is in clinical and follow-up studies in patients with congenital heart disease, heart failure, pulmonary hypertension and after heart transplantation. He has published more than 50 original articles, book chapters and clinical guidelines.
