Dr Katrijn Jansen is an adult congenital cardiologist and associate clinical lecturer at the Freeman Hospital and Newcastle upon Tyne university, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. She trained in cardiology in the Saint-Luc University Hospitals in Brussels and University Hospitals Leuven (Belgium), undertook a research echo fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston (USA) and completed her congenital training at the Toronto General Hospital in Toronto (Canada). She has expertise in advanced heart failure management in adults with congenital heart disease, including mechanical circulatory support and transplantation, as well as pulmonary hypertension and pregnancy. She is the current honorary secretary of the European Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, member of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation and member of the International Society for ACHD.
